Yes. The company takes the shares they have on hand, shares bought back from the open market or the ones that have never been issued and cancel them. It is usually done by way of a shareholder meeting proposal and vote....
FITX must have possession of the shares in order to cancel them. The ONLY way FITX or anyone else can take my shares away from me will be 3-5 years (maybe longer) down the road when someone else likes them ($$$$$$$) much more than I do. I will NOT sell until the offer price is > $15.00 PPS.
