I have seen this before with another stock.  It usually happens when short sellers want to borrow your shares to short a stock.  They go after large shareholders and entice them with a premium to borrow them.  In this situation, maybe there are "naked short sellers" out there who have to cover now, and can't unless they find shares somewhere else to buy, because maybe there are not enough sellers in the open market.
I watched another stock recently where "naked short sellers" had over sold the number of shares out there by 250%.  That was a stock that had been a penny stock before that happened.  A penny stock being any that is less than $3.
Could it be we have "naked short sellers", or just short sellers, who are desperate to find shares so may be contacting shareholders of large numbers of shares directly to buy?
