3. Deployable Gasification Unit (DGU) Development – Our team is working on the final detailed engineering and early manufacturing of prototype DGU’s as part of our partnership with Northrop Grumman. We are constructing two prototype units (military and commercial) and expect to have these assembled and complete for extended duration testing and documentation during the summer of 2014. We have significant interest in these systems from both military/government and commercial customers. The prototype units should be available for customer demonstrations and sales purposes in the fall of 2014, with DGUs available for delivery in by 2015. Our website will soon include additional information on the DGU.

International Biomass Conference & Expo is the largest, fastest-growing event of its kind. In 2014, this event is expected to draw nearly 1,600 attendees. In 2013, the event drew more than 1,200 attendees and doubling the attendance of the inaugural show. This growth is fueled by a world-class Expo and an acclaimed program.
Once again, the 2014 International Biomass Conference & Expo program will include 30-plus panels and more than 100 speakers, including 90 technical presentations on topics ranging from anaerobic digestion and gasification to pyrolysis and combined heat and power, all within the structured framework of five customized tracks:

 Track 2: Biomass Power & Thermal The Clean Energy Trifecta that is Small-Scale, Biomass Fueled, Combined Heat and Power Facilities With a sharp focus on the economic advantages offered by combined heat and power operations, this panel will explore the smaller, modular solutions available while outlining situations where they make the most financial sense. Presenters will discuss the different technologies and deployment models available to bring biomass power and thermal energy to environments with smaller, more nuanced demands. Gasification and organic rankine cycle technologies will receive close attention as well as advantages offered by modular plant design.

Northrop Grumman is developing cost takeout solutions to capture demand from its core defense customers
Federally focused vendors are increasing their value proposition by appealing to demand for cost takeout solutions, through either the repurposing of existing capabilities for new applications or through the development of new solutions that tackle unique problems. To this end, IS has partnered with Cirque Energy Inc. to develop a Deployable Gasification Unit (DGU), which takes on-site waste produced by military and industrial operations and converts it to electricity and recoverable heat.
