Yes there is some truth to this...it is well documented here on these pages of Investor hangout. But these are shares that were originally "restricted" shares that will slowly be coming off the restriction in a step down process over the next several months. Someone else here can copy and paste the details for me.
Bill has been questioned before on this matter and he has gone on record that these restricted shares are held by "mostly" family and friends that invested in him and his vision for the company in exchage for stock back more than a year ago.
he is quoted as saying (basically paraphrasing here) that the people who currently hold those shares can certainly sell them if they wanted to but that as of this time they can see the physical fruits of their labor and patience and Bills vision and promises and in Bill's opinion they would be FOOLS to sell those shares now when they are so close to realizing the full potential of the dream.
why sell now when they can hang on a while longer and really reap the benefits.
