That's like saying if my CD is just sitting, which is does, then I am making no money, but you are, in interest.  That does not happen in the market.  Stocks go up, go down or remain unchanged.  With your viewpoint, which is narrow in my opinion, why then trade?  Could your stock not go down for five days straight, thus causing paper losses? Or remain unchanged for several days? This is a legalized alternative to casino gambling and nothing more. If you are comfortable with your "gamble", flip or investment, and can sleep at night knowing that should it sit awhile or disappear altogether, you've lost what you can afford.  What's the difference if it sits?  Bumper has it right.  The stock should or will begin trading again after the suspension is over.  We've lost nothing nor do we lose, accept perhaps the opportunity to purchase another stock should we desire; and that we can change as well simply by selling.  Respectfully.
