The Obamas had to relinquish the Law Licenses as Obama had lied on his application to the Illinois Bar.  He lied when he answered he had never used any other aliases/names, he lied when he said he had no outstanding fines, warrants, etc.  His people in 2008 quickly went to Harvard area and quickly paid off parking tickets, fines, and penalties he had ignored for 17 years.  There were other things he had lied about.  Once you relinquish your license the criminal charges are mute.  That is why he relinquised his law license so abruptly.  Michele may have had similar problems, but she surely knew of Barack's lies on his application and may have to had testify.
