Surprise? Boston Magazine reports that a Metro Boston D.A., who also served as a U.S. Congressman, grabbed nearly 10% of Massachusetts' medical cannabis licenses. By recently enacted statute, Massachusetts, population 6.6 milllion, allows only 35 medical cannabis dispensaries in the entire state.

According to Boston Magazine:

"The former U.S. Congressman and Norfolk County D.A. William Delahunt is now the biggest medical marijuana dealer in Massachusetts to ever have put people behind bars for using his new product."

'During William Delahunt’s tenure as Norfolk District Attorney (1985-1996), 6,381 people were arrested for marijuana-related offenses; 5,459 of them for possession.'

'William Delahunt is the former Democratic representative for Massachusetts' 10th congressional district (1997 to 2011) and served as Norfolk County District Attorney (1985-1996).'
