Pondering how a downside might arise, but I can't think of any, yet. The idea presumes respectable numbers of sign-ups at each site.
"As they attract sign-ups to PJ and Janes Card and become reasonably confident in that endeavor, they could place a real-time counter on both websites to show how many individuals have signed up. It could be like a telethon with its tally board. It's fun to see numbers increasing, and one gets a pleasant sense of belonging to a group. A member counter could generate additional excitement, buzz, and involvement in the two projects among shareholders and member sign-ups alike."
