The person that wrote that article should be fired. Flawed research at best.
Google kept all of the patents that they acquired in the acquisition of Motorola. There was not any write down due to their selling most of the pieces of Motorola, kept the cash Motorola delivered and brought to the table at the M&A with Google. Sold at best 15% of the Total Acquisition to Lenovo. The cash was almost 3 Billion. Then there were the "TAX BREAKS AND INCENTIVES" that were "HUGE" in the Billions which is what GOOGLE was really after…Take notice of how much B&O taxes GOOG has paid in the last 3 Years…."ZERO" !! IMO they pillaged Motorola for 3 primary aspects, 1)Cash, 2) Tax Breaks and 3) Patents
Part of what is wrong in our country is Intellectual Dishonesty and downright Laziness on the part of the media the "Author" cited the price GOOG paid for Motorola as a "Write Down"….NUTS !!!
