His background is as a salesman. That's fine. We need good salesmen. But what makes a good salesman doesn't necessarily make a good leader or president of a firm. As time marches on, we will definitely need a visible and experienced leader, a seasoned CEO without baggage, who's more than a salesman, executes things precisely, delegates responsibly, and inspires confidence in the market and among stockholders.  The Peter Principle says people rise to their level of incompetence. Great teachers promoted to principals often flop and get stuck there. Skillset mismatch. This is a case in point. Salesman placed as company president. Boing!
