North Bay Resources Inc. (OTCQB: NBRI) ("North Bay" or the "Company") is pleased to report that the federal Mine Safety and Health Administration ("MSHA") has notified our wholly-owned subsidiary, Ruby Gold, Inc., that worker safety training under our MSHA-approved safety training plan has been completed, certified, and formally verified by an authorized representative of the Secretary of Labor. Accordingly, all previous stop work orders have been lifted, and operations at the Ruby Mine to complete rehabilitation work on the Ruby Tunnel have resumed.
Following a brief period of preliminary tasking, the crew will resume their advance towards the 4900 Vein and the entrance to the Black Channel. As previously described in a Company press release dated July 23, 2012, this section of the tunnel from the Ruby Portal to the 4900 Vein is on the west side of the Melones Fault, the primary controlling structure that defines the Motherlode system of Northern California. The geological lithology of this western section is characterized by long stretches of serpentinite, which is a brittle rock structure prone to fracturing. To help insure that mining operations are not interrupted from falling rock from the serpentinite roof, a great deal of care will be taken to retimber this stretch of tunnel as much as is deemed prudent, and in some areas installing new timbering to further reinforce the roof and ribs of the tunnel. This is a slow and tedious process, and there remains another 600 feet or so of serpentinite to retimber before reaching the 4900 Vein.
Upon reaching the 4900 vein, we will cross over to the eastern side of the Melones Fault and into the approach to the Black Channel. It is worth noting that much of the gold produced from vein deposits of the Motherlode has been mined from the eastern side of the Melones Fault, a geological structure that runs through the entire length of the Ruby property. The geological lithology of the eastern side of the Melones Fault is characterized as a slate structure, which has an inherent stability that is more self-supporting, and will not likely require nearly as much timbering. We therefore expect the work to proceed at a faster pace once we reach that section of the tunnel. By the time we reach the 4900 Vein, we will have installed over 60,000 board feet of timber, and almost 5,000 feet of new ventilation duct.

Understanding the Basics of Bonds
Bonds are debt instruments companies use to generate capital. Bonds are bought by investors, so the issuing body lends funds. The issuer promises to pay interest at regular intervals in exchange, then return the principal amount on the maturity date. For bondholders, this procedure produces a consistent income source. Bonds can help to lower general volatility and diversify a portfolio. These are often considered safer investments than stocks. Still, knowledg... Continue Reading

U.S. Economy Surpasses Expectations with Strong Q2 Growth
The second quarter's U.S. economy expanded faster than expected. Gains in consumer spending and business investment drove this increase. This good performance allayed worries about the sudden stop of the economic growth. Though there was past slow expansio... Continue Reading
