You are making my point. The reputation of SAIC is good. They issued a report that was based on the limited data they received and was accurate for that data.
It was the company that made it seem, via their initial PR, that the conclusIons reached demonstrated their commercial viability.
I agree. The SEC probably made them issue the retraction after the Executive Summary was leaked. ConclusIons of commercial viability could not be drawn once the details were revealed. There were too many constraints during the test run to make those types of statements.
The processor produces good fuel under ideal conditions. The throughput is reasonable under ideal conditions.
P3 tries to address the issues, but it's only somewhat successful. It still needs sorted plastic that is as as possible. It needs HTF to bathe the plastic so it can melt efficiently. It extracts residue, which is good. It can run for extended periods of time, which is good. But it needs lots of babysitting by knowledgeable employees, not by unskilled labor.
I think they will be able to sell processors to large companies with lots of plastic waste of a single type. Those sales will not come easily and it is not at all clear how big that market is. Does RKT fall into that category? Maybe. But that relatIonship might have soured to the point where it can't be salvaged.
But sales should let them keep the doors open and continue to improve the process. They should be able to make processing more automatic for known inputs relieving the need for constant monitoring by professionals.
They will never be the cash cow they kept telling investors they would be. $10 per barrel is not even close and will never happen.
