That's right. Albert Einstein was 14-years old when he conducted that thought experiment while riding in a passenger train. Like Isaac Newton before him with gravity and the laws of motion, Einstein had the full intuition of relativity along with all of its fantastic implications (like time slowing, mass increasing and dimensions shrinking at high speeds and matter/energy conversion) at a young age. They both spent their later years working on the mathematics to prove to the world what they already knew as flashes of insight before the age of 20.
