America Makes Grant in Developing a Platform Solution for Aerospace Manufacturing

PrintRite3D is a mature solution. If there is not yet a complete system, then no PrintRite3D CAN be distributed. We know that this is not true as there are systems in the field, 2 of which were purchased for $975,000. That is a lot to pay for systems that are "incomplete".
Maturation of an IPQA solution is incorporation of a closed loop controller for inefficient printing machines. Greg Morris himself stated that the current state of printers are not suitable for GE Aviation's need to complete LEAP engine orders. They plan to spend "tens of millions" to meet production goals. Incorporating a closed loop control to prevent defects from occurring is what will improve efficiency. This is what PrintRite3D is designed to do and possibly part of the "ten of millions" GE Aviation plans to spend.

PrintRite3D is a cross-platform surveillance and control system that can be programmed for specific materials. The fact that this 2nd award for the goal of developing a commercially available, platform-independent QA TECHNOLOGY in multiple AM machines and alloys is big news. No one has been able to offer any solution, not Mazumder, Optomec, Stratonics, Sciaky, nor any other printer maker. Quality assurance and material properties are areas Sigma Labs holds expertise and this win is another step closer to commercialization.
The fact that Burke E Porter (BEP) is involved in this grant win is significant and remains true to the agreement BEP and Sigma Labs enacted in 08/14/13 for international distribution.
