According to the Deutsche Bank report the global volume of data passed through the IP (Internet Protocol) has quintupled since 2008 to some 700bn gigabytes; this is equivalent to the combined capacity of 200bn DVDs annually. Despite this 65% of data traffic is generated by 10% of the most intensive users.
