The Company is currently seeking damages against several individuals who have engaged in tortuous interference in Company operations. Sometime before January 18, 2014, Treaty Energy will file its motion to determine damages against six petitioners and their attorney who filed an involuntary petition against the Company in May of 2013. An announcement will be made shortly after the document is filed with a brief statement from the Company explaining its position and the damages that it is seeking.
A few of the petitioners have begun to contact vendors and associated members with the Company’s operations, including sending them copies of the petition telling them that the Company was in bankruptcy. This action has seriously disrupted operations on many of our projects, including the Stockton and Kubacak leases.
Treaty Energy does not take these actions lightly and are pursuing further legal action against them. The petitioner’s efforts have intensified after the Company moved to re-open the bankruptcy. These actions have prompted many projects to insist on NDAs to ensure that business partners do not receive harassing phone calls or receive unmerited or unwanted criticism from independent third party actors that may cause additional deals to break down
