The real Cotton Mather was known for sending many innocent woman to their deaths as witches. He wrote many of the guide lines that convicted them. to say the Lord's prayer perfectly, while standing on the gallows. Cotton was so dumbfounded by this, that he said the devil must have helped him do it, and they proceeded to hang him! What is this you say? Someone proved the guidelines wrong, but Cotton Mather came up with a BS excuse to make him seem right ? Yep, cottonmather's truth is what he makes it to be to suit his agenda, just like the original. I wonder if " our " cotton even knows this? I googled it , just like I did when the circuit board controversy was prevalent. Guess which one, said to be there by cotton, is no where to be found? lol. You can't make this stuff up!
