Just got to jump on board to catch up. Texas, Paul Bunyan really centered around Minnesota and its Northern forests. The "home" of PB is in Alexandria, MN. You can see his (and Babe's) statue in the center of town. Sorry, despite all of the lakes up there, they have no underwater trees!
