Stephen. brewer that strategy could work if all investors did hold.  Of course, that strategy would not prevent the company from shorting its own stock (this does happen with some companies and MMTE is one to look at for confirmation).  The problem is that the market is governed by personal self interest, and that means fear of loss and greed for riches dictate what individual investor may do.
