In all honesty, I don't have my head around all of what you're saying right now. There are two important things to remember, luckily you found out - SRGE is not listed in Germany any more, so we don't need to worry about German traders. 2) We won't know how high the price might run, till we are given details of the sale, or what the deal is.
Once we know both those things, then we can guess how high it might head and who will have to finally cover, go bankrupt or not cover at all. Maybe one of us can phone our broker and ask the hypothetical question -
If I short a stock and then it goes to the grey sheets before I've covered, but the price keeps falling, do I have to cover once it goes onto the grey sheets immediately, or do I only have to cover if the price starts rising or if it comes back off the grey sheets?
