My personal experience with MJ, i dont think its addictive nor have i ever seen anyone who seemed to be addicted. Back in college my university was heavy of marijuana, i was a daily smoker, maybe even an abuser since I was always high lol. After graduating i got a job and I quit cold turkey. Then few years later i went back to medical school and started smoking it almost 5 times a week(keeps me less stressed), quit again cold turkey right after. Smoke about 3 times a year since but hardly addicted. The only ones i see still smoking it daily are my friends with social problems, but other than that no one feels like they need it.

My Medical school barely mentioned marijuana but only says THC is slightly addictive with 3 side effects: weight gain, paranoia, drowsiness...thats all we needed to learn about marijuana lol
