Re: bunny #11863
Hi Bunny!
I think an element of the recent conversation that has come up before and consistently befuddles me is the idea that an investor needs to 'trust' the management of the company he's holding shares in. No matter how much I respect management of a company, I don't place my trust in them. I place my trust in my ability to evaluate and re-evaluate the ever changing criteria of my investments. Management is there to perform as delineated in their business plan and to maintain transparency in their shareholder communications about their performance and goals. They are a business and financial relationship, not a trust and love relationship. They are graded on function and performance, not on likeability. The idea that an investor is 'disloyal' if they hold a company up to regular scrutiny is just really odd. There are so many emotional relationships between investors and the companies they have chosen. As a person who was spoonfed Benjamin Graham when I was first starting out, I wonder at the ubiquitous acceptance of such emotional attachments to financial instruments.
End of day musings...Take care Bunny! Hope you are enjoying the ride up of CTIX!
