And yet there is the total absurdity of cannabis federally classified, for the past 43 years, as a Schedule 1 drug, which classification is reserved for the most dangerous drugs or substances deemed by D E A to be unsafe, of no medical value, and highly restricted even for clinical studies. Not mentioning the thousands of people sitting in prisons at enormous taxpayer expense because of Schedule 1 classification for mj.

The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical treatment use in the U.S.
There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or substance under medical supervision.
