The longs left IHub because there was an organized exodus. People are tired of hearing the same negative comments over and over ad nauseum by the same cast of characters with no stake in the game (well unless some are paid bashers). Everyone knows that IHub's rules cater to bashing, so...

So the exodus of longs had nothing to do with rough seas. In fact, few thought they would get this rough.
