- As far as Goldman Sachs is concerned, U.S. Bancorp (USB) is in, and Citigroup (C) is out. In a note published today, a team of Goldman analysts led by Richard Ramsden downgraded Citigroup to Neutral removing it from the Conviction Buy list. In its place, now sits U.S. Bancorp, which Goldman upgraded from Neutral to Conviction Buy The shift was part of the firm's broader call on the prospects in 014 for Big Banks. In short, Ramsden's team advises "shifting from restructuring stories to top line growth stories." The report adds the following: For the past 2 years we have favored "restructuring" stories as the market was not pricing in improving returns.
