Totally agree, we need narrow spreads. Going back to the nickel or wider spread just mints money for the market makers and screws the small investor. I trade options and you have to have a lot of confidence in your trade if there is a 20 cent spread, so if you have to pay the ask you instantly have lost money (if you had to bail out). A nickel spread is going to discourage a lot of small investors.
