I see the democrats and republicans as relative equivalents, their differences are much more subtle than their similarities. They refuse to take our problems seriously enough to offer long term solutions. This is why I think if a large portion of the country voted outside the republican-democratic paradigm it would send a strong message to the establishment that they need to change and adapt in order to garner support.
