Coming up: Revised second-quarter U.S. productivity
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - Newly revised figures for second-quarter U.S. productivity will be released at 8:30 a.m. Eastern. Economists think that second quarter productivity will be revised up on the already reported upward revision the Q2 GDP. Productivity likely rose by 1.9% in the April-June quarter, up from an initially estimated increase of 1.6%, the Labor Department is expected to report. Unit-labor costs, meanwhile, probably rose 1.4% instead of 1.7% as originally reported. Last week, the government reported that real GDP for the second quarter was revised up to 1.7% from the initial estimate of 1.5%
