Republicans push six-week debt limit hike
Proposal wouldn’t reopen government; President Obama, Republicans to meet
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — House Republican leaders are planning to propose a six-week extension of the U.S. debt limit to allow for negotiations on a broader budget agreement, reports said Thursday.

House Republicans are meeting Thursday morning and leaders including Speaker John Boehner are planning to meet with President Barack Obama at the White House in the afternoon. ABC News reports that the plan only involves raising the debt limit but does not fund the government, now on day 10 of a partial shutdown.
