Medient Studios Breaks Ground , Raises Hopes in Effingham County

The studio that has been promising to bring some Hollywood to Effingham County took another step toward making that happen today. Around 11 o'clock this morning the studio held a news conference and groundbreaking. The event featured a special Indian ceremony ; the breaking of a coconut. It's meant to be a request for good fortune at the start of a new venture. It's fitting; Medient is an Indian company which has just located in the United States. They've produced 19 films for the international market. They intend to produce many more than that from their new facility in Effingham County.
The clearing of the land has already begun. Actual construction on the sound stage portion of the facility is set to begin right away.
