VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Callinex Mines Inc. (TSX-V: CNX; OTCQX: CLLXF) is excited to introduce Peter Dimmell, a highly respected geologist and exploration consultant, as a valuable addition to our Board of Directors. Ample experience has equipped Mr. Dimmell to take on the lead role on the technical committee. His impressive track record includes playing a critical part in the discovery team of the Pt. Leamington VMS deposit while working with Noranda. Beyond this, he contributed to the exploration and production phases at the Rambler Mine and played a part in discovering the Duck Pond mine on the Island of Newfoundland.
Max Porterfield, President & CEO of Callinex Mines, expressed his enthusiasm for Dimmell’s addition, stating, “We are thrilled to have Mr. Dimmell on our team as we push forward with the development of the Pt. Leamington Deposit. His deep connections to the deposit, extensive experience, and unwavering dedication to exploration will undoubtedly bring significant value to both the Company and its shareholders. Our team has already had the pleasure of collaborating with Peter in the field in preparation for our forthcoming exploration campaign.”
“I’m thrilled to be back working on the Pt. Leamington Deposit after all these years,” noted Dimmell. “Exploration efforts on this deposit have been minimal since my departure, and I see considerable potential to expand the resource. I am looking forward to collaborating with the team to uncover additional deposits nearby.”
As a licensed Professional Geologist in Newfoundland and Ontario, Mr. Dimmell holds notable credentials that enrich his profile. He is a Fellow of Geoscientists Canada and has served as President of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) during 2004-2006. His leadership extends to previous roles as Chairman and Executive Director of Mining Industry NL, and involvement with various geosciences associations, including the Geological Association of Canada and the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum. Furthermore, he serves on the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame board representing the PDAC and has held board positions in both TSX and TSX-V listed companies.
The Pt. Leamington Project includes Mining Lease 136 (2655) and is situated in central Newfoundland, approximately 37 kilometers from Grand Falls-Windsor and 20 kilometers from the provincial power grid. Callinex has outlined significant mineral resources at the site, with an indicated mineral resource of 5.0 million tonnes grading 2.5 g/t AuEq, translating into 402,000 AuEq ounces. Additionally, there is an inferred resource of 13.7 million tonnes at a grade of 2.24 g/t AuEq, amounting to an impressive 986,500 AuEq ounces.
This deposit is characterized as a robust, felsic-hosted VMS deposit with a westward dip of 70 degrees and an impressive strike length of up to 500 meters. Drilling has confirmed massive sulphides extending to a depth of 360 meters below the surface across 21,714 meters in 72 drill holes. Government surveys and lithogeochemical analyses have indicated that the volcanic stratigraphy hosting the Pt. Leamington Deposit has characteristics that extend beyond the immediate area, reinforcing its potential.
Acquisition of a Mineral License
In an additional development, Callinex has established an agreement with RDF Consulting Ltd. for the acquisition of a mineral license adjacent to the Pt. Leamington Project. In exchange for this mineral license, which consists of 5 claims, Callinex will issue 50,000 common shares to RDF Consulting Ltd. A four-month hold period will be applied to the shares issued. The company will also offer a 1% net smelter return royalty, which can be reacquired for C$1,000,000.
This transaction awaits the approval from the TSX Venture Exchange, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
