LALIGA Partners with U.S. Soccer Foundation for Youth Initiatives
LALIGA has formed a significant partnership with the U.S. Soccer Foundation to enhance engagement in under-resourced communities by utilizing soccer as a powerful vehicle for change.
The U.S. Soccer Foundation, which was founded in 1994, has dedicated over three decades to amplify the potential of children in these communities, encouraging healthier lifestyles through the transformational power of soccer.
This partnership aims to extend their outreach, particularly in the lead-up to the upcoming FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the U.S. alongside Canada and Mexico.
"Our mission is to offer over 1 million children access to soccer in communities that need it most. We plan to install 1,000 mini-pitches where these children live and learn," stated Ed Foster-Simeon, the President & CEO of the U.S. Soccer Foundation. "Teaming up with LALIGA is crucial to elevate these opportunities and foster a positive impact on youth, especially with the anticipation building around the 2026 FIFA World Cup."
As part of this collaboration, LALIGA will assist with U.S. Soccer Foundation fundraising during fan-centric events called El Partidazo during the 2025/26 LALIGA season and will contribute to various community initiatives.
Additionally, LALIGA plans to sponsor the Unity Cup set to take place in spring 2026, further underlining its commitment to support youth engagement.
"Soccer transcends being merely a sport; it acts as a powerful means to unlock opportunities and drive positive change in communities that are underserved," remarked Boris Gartner, Chairman of LALIGA North America. "Collaborating with the U.S. Soccer Foundation, which leads transformative initiatives nationwide, showcases our long-term investment in making the Beautiful Game accessible to all Americans."
