Kenmare Resources Enhances Wet Concentrator Plant A Capabilities

Update on Kenmare Resources’ Wet Concentrator Plant A

Kenmare Resources plc, recognized as a leading producer of titanium minerals and zircon, operates the Moma Titanium Minerals Mine, a significant site for titanium extraction. Recently, the company released an exciting update concerning the upgrade of its Wet Concentrator Plant (WCP) A. This improvement project is pivotal as it gears the plant for the transition to the Nataka ore zone, which is crucial for the future of Kenmare’s operations.

Key Developments Regarding the Upgrade

Ben Baxter, the Chief Operations Officer of Kenmare, shared promising news regarding the progress of the WCP A. According to Baxter, the recent installation of two new dredges and a feed preparation unit was accomplished smoothly, with the commissioning process initiating as of October 2. The company expects a ramp-up in production through the fourth quarter, with ongoing adjustments to achieve full operational capacity.

Baxter commented on the project saying, “The production pause fell within our anticipated schedule of three to four weeks, which we have factored into our production forecasts for 2025. Our team excelled in executing this comprehensive upgrade while upholding an outstanding safety record.”

About the Transition to Nataka

The Nataka ore zone is the most prominent in Moma’s resources, representing about 70% of its total mineral assets. This transition is not just about increased output; it symbolizes a strategic move set to secure Kenmare's production necessities for over two decades. Enhanced mining techniques have been implemented in WCP A to suit the unique conditions of Nataka, which features high levels of slimes that can deter efficient recovery rates. The Plant is strategically upgraded with two high-capacity dredges and a dedicated feed preparation module to manage these challenges effectively.

Investment Insights

The overhaul of WCP A comes with a capital investment of $341 million. This encompasses the establishment of a new Tailings Storage Facility and additional infrastructure that will enable mining operations within the Nataka ore zone.

Looking Ahead: Production Milestones

With the commissioning of WCP A having started, Kenmare anticipates that the plant will achieve its nameplate capacity of 3,500 tonnes per hour by the end of 2025. Operations in the Namalope area are projected to wrap up in the second quarter of 2026, at which point the transition to Nataka will commence and last about 18 months.

Kenmare is set to provide further updates regarding their production outlook on the 15th of October 2025, shedding light on the company's performance and operational adjustments.
