Creating a Sacred Space
To develop The Wetterau Family Spiritual Care Center, Reimagine Well initiated a thoughtful process by distributing surveys to patients and their families. They asked a crucial question: "If you could choose any sacred space for prayer, where would you go?" The responses from patients, families, and community leaders played a vital role in shaping the design and purpose of this center.
Utilizing Advanced Technology
Patients will have the opportunity to select their desired sacred space through an interactive touchscreen interface. Immediately, they could be transported to a Chapel, Mandir, Mosque, Synagogue, Temple, or even tranquil natural environments such as alpine forests or serene shorelines. This innovative blend of projections, high-definition displays, and spatial audio offers a remarkable spiritual experience tailored to each patient's needs.

According to Annette Walker, president of City of Hope Orange County, "The Wetterau Family Spiritual Care Center is a sacred space, intentionally designed to reflect the diverse spiritual landscape of our community. This center will serve as a refuge for patients, families, and staff members alike." Leading the design of the center is Roger Holzberg, a former Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering and a co-founder of Reimagine Well. As a 21-year cancer survivor and caregiver, Holzberg approaches this project with profound personal understanding. He affirms, "For City of Hope to recognize the necessity of allowing patients and families to access their sacred places within a hospital is truly remarkable. Achieving optimal health requires nurturing the mind, body, and spirit simultaneously."
