Icon Energy Corp. Welcomes M/V Bravo and Secures Financing
Icon Energy Corp. (“Icon”) (Nasdaq: ICON) is thrilled to announce the arrival of its latest fleet member, the M/V Bravo, alongside significant financing aimed at facilitating future growth. This advanced Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier represents a key achievement in Icon's operational strategy, paving the way for expansion.
The M/V Bravo Joins the Icon Fleet
The M/V Bravo's delivery marks an important step forward for Icon. Acquired from a third-party seller, this vessel boosts our operational capabilities and underscores our commitment to offering efficient shipping services across the seas. Icon has secured a time charter agreement with a multi-national commodity trading firm, allowing the M/V Bravo to operate with a floating charter rate tied to the Baltic Panamax Index for an expected period of 11 to 14 months.
Funding for Future Growth Opportunities
Recently, Icon completed a new term loan facility worth up to $91.5 million, crucial for supporting further fleet enhancements. This loan was secured through collaboration with a well-regarded international financial institution, positioning Icon to take advantage of growth opportunities as they present themselves.
As part of this financing arrangement, Icon has borrowed $16.5 million to help cover the costs related to the M/V Bravo acquisition and to optimize its existing Panamax dry bulk carrier, the M/V Alfa. The term loan includes advantageous conditions, with a four-year duration and an interest rate of 3.95% above SOFR, which sets the company up for future success.
