Highland Copper Appoints Wynand van Dyk as New Project Director

Highland Copper Company Inc. is thrilled to announce that Wynand van Dyk has been appointed as the Project Director for the Copperwood project. This decision aims to enhance the project's leadership as it moves closer to construction.

Wynand van Dyk's Impressive Background

Wynand van Dyk comes to Highland with an impressive background, boasting thirty years of experience in the mining and metallurgy industries. He began his career with De Beers in South Africa before taking on a significant role at Hatch, where he served as a project manager and lead process engineer. For the past decade, he has played a key role at Lonmin Platinum, where he managed the development of processing plants and important capital projects. His expertise in management was evident as he implemented Lean Six Sigma initiatives and held significant positions in both the Base Metal Refinery and Process Division.

Dedication to Sustainable Mining Practices

In addition to his previous roles, Wynand has consulted for various international mining companies, focusing on EHS, operational risk management, and project management. His commitment to the field is further demonstrated by his past role as an Adjunct Associate Professor at prestigious universities. Looking Ahead with Wynand

Barry O’Shea, CEO of Highland Copper, expressed his enthusiasm about Wynand joining the team, stating, “Wynand's expertise in project design and development is essential as we advance Copperwood towards construction.” Following the completion of a feasibility study and the permitting process, Highland is now focused on early site works. This is an exciting time for the company as it aims to take advantage of strong fundamentals in the copper market.

Wynand's Vision for Copperwood

Wynand has expressed his excitement to embark on this new journey with Highland, highlighting the team's commitment to sustainable mining. His vision is not only to meet environmental standards but also to create lasting value for the Upper Peninsula community. He is ready to lead initiatives that will enhance shareholder value while making a positive impact on the region.

Changes in Highland Copper's Board

Alongside this leadership announcement, Highland Copper has revealed the resignation of Caroline Donally from her role as Company Director, allowing her to pursue personal interests.
