Exciting Developments at the Black Butte Copper Project

Sandfire Resources America Inc. (TSX-V: SFR; Other OTC: SRAFF) has recently reported significant advancements from its drilling program at the Black Butte Copper Project, showcasing the company's commitment to enhancing its resource data. The ongoing drilling is aimed at upgrading and expanding the Johnny Lee Lower Copper Zone resource, which is already known to host 1.2 million tonnes at a remarkable 6.8% copper and an inferred 0.5 million tonnes at 5.9% copper.

Key Highlights from the Latest Drilling Results

Since the last update, Sandfire America has completed a total of thirty-two drill holes, with the latest results from eleven of these holes highlighting exceptional copper intersections from the Johnny Lee Lower Copper Zone:

  • Drillhole SC24-296: 3.19m at 19.46% Cu from 471.86m.
  • Drillhole SC24-302: 2.84m at 8.98% Cu from 357.36m.
  • Drillhole SC24-303: 2.79m at 11.82% Cu from 364.93m.

Drilling Program Overview

Sandfire's exploration initiatives in 2024 are indicative of its strategic approach to mineral resource development. The focus remains on both enhancing the current resource specifications and expanding the overall size of the Johnny Lee Lower Copper Zone. Since initiating the current drill program in December 2023, approximately 13,800 meters have been drilled.

Statements from Leadership

Jerry Zieg, VP of Exploration, expressed his enthusiasm over the latest drilling results, stating, “Our drilling is achieving consistent high-grade intersections in and around the resource while also clearly defining its boundaries.” He added that this endeavor greatly increases the integrity of the resource model and enhances the overall value of the Black Butte project.

Future Expectations and Developments

The current drilling program has been extended through mid-summer 2025, aimed at expanding the Johnny Lee Lower Copper Zone further. The company plans to obtain sample material from both the Upper and Lower Copper Zones for extensive metallurgical and geotechnical testing, which will inform an updated feasibility study projected for completion by 2026.

Community Engagement and Development

CEO Lincoln Greenidge emphasized the importance of diligently advancing towards enhancing the permitted resource. He stated, “This will ensure a robust feasibility study leading to an informed final investment decision regarding project development.” This proactive approach aims to solidify the future success of the Black Butte Copper Project.
