This comes as he takes over the role previously held by Dana Neves, who has transitioned to become Senior Managing Vice President at Gray Media. David will officially assume his new responsibilities starting July 9, 2025.

David Hughes is coming to WFSB after successfully managing Gray’s Cleveland television stations, WOIO (CBS) and WUAB (CW) since mid-2023. His notable contributions in Cleveland include developing a strong partnership with the Cleveland Cavaliers, which led to the creation of the Rock Entertainment Sports Network. This exciting sports network has aired over 200 live sporting events since launching in August of 2024.
In addition, David played a crucial role in obtaining broadcasting rights to major sports events, such as games from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Columbus Crew. His track record showcases his abilities in leadership and strategic partnerships, positioning him as a significant asset for WFSB moving forward.

Before his time in Cleveland, David served as the General Manager at Gray’s WSAZ (NBC) and WQCW (CW) stations in Charleston-Huntington, West Virginia, as well as WVIR (NBC) in Charlottesville, Virginia. His career also highlights his experience as a news director at Gray’s WDBJ (CBS) in Roanoke, Virginia, and various roles across respected news organizations such as WFLA in Tampa, Florida, WRAL in Raleigh, North Carolina, and WMAZ in Macon, Georgia.
