Geomega Resources Advances Magnet Recycling Efforts
Geomega Resources Inc. (TSX.V: GMA) (OTC: GOMRF), a leader in the development of innovative processing technologies in the metals and mining industries, has intriguing updates regarding its rare earth magnets recycling demonstration plant. The company is also gearing up for its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and has some important news regarding a warrant extension.
Demonstration Plant Developments
The recycling demonstration plant stands as one of Geomega’s pivotal projects. It integrates core technologies such as reagent recycling, iron recovery, and critical metal extraction and refining processes. Following their last communication in March 2024, Geomega's engineering team has made significant strides in the plant's detailed engineering. The primary focus has been on completing process engineering work such as piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) and layout designs.
This progress has facilitated procurement efforts, leading to the ordering of over 90% of the vital long lead items needed for the project. The team has received the primary crushing unit, with additional process equipment and utilities anticipated to begin arriving soon, ensuring that progress continues in the coming months.
Over the last six months, extensive civil engineering work has taken place, covering areas like fire protection, HVAC, and structural elements. The site has seen the completion of necessary demolition work, paving the way for new concrete floors and essential infrastructure. With the approval from Hydro Quebec for an increased power supply now confirmed, installation preparations will roll out soon.
Kiril Mugerman, President & CEO of Geomega, noted, "The past six months have been remarkably productive in advancing the continuous demonstration plant's design. We are now nearing the final steps before starting equipment installation and plant assembly. Our shareholders have been eagerly awaiting updates, and we are committed to delivering them timely. Concurrently, our lab teams are progressing with our various projects, including the valorization of bauxite residues, and we aim to share more specifics soon."
Upcoming Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting will convene at the esteemed Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP offices located at 800, Square-Victoria street, #3500. This event is scheduled to occur in late November 2024.
