Energy Fuels Exceeds Uranium Production Expectations for 2025

Energy Fuels Exceeds Uranium Production Expectations for 2025

Energy Fuels Achieves Record Uranium Production

Energy Fuels Inc. (NYSE: UUUU) has recently provided a significant update regarding its uranium business for the fiscal year 2025. This encompasses over one million pounds of finished uranium production, along with increased mine output, elevated sales volumes, and the establishment of new long-term contracts. This performance underscores Energy Fuels' commitment to maintaining its status as a leading producer of critical materials in the U.S.

CEO Mark S. Chalmers expressed pride in these 2025 metrics by affirming the company's role as both the largest and lowest-cost uranium producer in the nation. He emphasized that uranium, as a backbone for nuclear energy, represents one of the cleanest and most dependable energy solutions available. Strong uranium production not only supports the economy but also enhances national security, reinforcing Energy Fuels' pivotal role in revitalizing domestic uranium production.

Current Mining and Production Status

The Pinyon Plain Mine located in Arizona and the La Sal Complex in Utah have successfully mined over 1.6 million pounds of uranium this year, surpassing the company’s earlier expectations by approximately 11%. This robust output reflects the ongoing mining operations at a rate of around 2 million recoverable pounds annually, a trend anticipated to persist through 2026. Energy Fuels plans to conduct extensive exploration drilling in the Juniper Zone at Pinyon Plain, aiming to delineate and potentially expand the available ore resources further.

White Mesa Mill Production Milestones

On the processing side, the White Mesa Mill has accomplished a noteworthy production milestone, exceeding one million pounds of U3O8 for the year 2025, with a notable contribution of over 350,000 pounds produced just in December. This production surpasses previous projections, and milling operations are expected to continue at around 250,000 pounds monthly into the first half of 2026.

Looking ahead, the company anticipates shifting to commercial-scale production of heavy rare earth elements such as dysprosium and terbium. This marks a significant moment, potentially representing the first commercial output of these sought-after materials from the U.S. in several years. Uranium ore mined during the latter half of 2026 is expected to bolster the Mill's inventory for processing into finished U3O8 in 2027.

Uranium Sales and Long-Term Contracts

Energy Fuels has also announced an expectation to sell a total of 360,000 pounds of U3O8 in the fourth quarter of 2025. This represents a remarkable 50% increase from the 240,000 pounds sold in the preceding quarter. Projected total gross sales revenue is anticipated to reach approximately $27 million, embodying a weighted average price of around $74.93 per pound.

In a strategic move, Energy Fuels has secured two new long-term uranium sales contracts with U.S. nuclear power companies. These contracts will contribute to uranium deliveries from 2027 through 2032. Moreover, they are structured to retain some connection to market price variations, incorporating hybrid pricing mechanisms that balance a base escalated price with spot market rates.

Future Sales Projections and Cost Expectations

With the latest contracts, Energy Fuels expects to complete total sales of between 780,000 to 880,000 pounds of U3O8 as part of its long-term agreements in 2026. This figure could further increase if market conditions remain favorable. The company also anticipates that its cost of goods sold will decrease in the first quarter of 2026 as more low-cost uranium sourced from Pinyon Plain is incorporated into inventory and sold.

About Energy Fuels

Energy Fuels stands out as a premier U.S. producer of critical materials focusing on uranium, rare earth elements, heavy mineral sands, vanadium, and medical isotopes. They operate several mining projects across the western U.S., maintaining the leadership position in natural uranium concentrate production. One key asset is the White Mesa Mill, recognized as the only fully licensed conventional uranium processing facility currently functional in the country. The mill also produces advanced rare earth products and is exploring opportunities for extracting medical isotopes essential for cutting-edge cancer therapies. The company is also in the exploratory phase of three heavy mineral sands projects, expanding its global footprint.
