Challenges Faced with Construction Timelines
The Terronera project encountered significant delays in December, specifically regarding the delivery of essential structural steel components necessary for the lower platform's construction and the tailing filter area installations. These delays have affected overall productivity and the anticipated commissioning schedule. As a strategic response, the management decided to reduce the site workforce between late December and early January to avoid unnecessary costs. This construction area is critical for progressing to wet commissioning, which is now projected for early in the second quarter of 2025.
Resurgence of Operations
With the recent lifting of transport restrictions in Mexico, Endeavour has resumed critical deliveries and installations. The earthworks team has successfully prepared the tailings dam for operation, while the operational readiness team is actively engaged in the dry commissioning of the upper platform. The site is stacked with above-ground ore stockpiles, inclusive of crushed ore, and activities related to stope preparation and mine development are ongoing. Recently, commissioning of the grinding circuit began, with SAG and ball mills being thoroughly tested for several hours at full operating speed to ensure optimal performance, bearing temperatures, vibration, and lubrication systems.
