Changent Launches New Cohort of Parent Ambassadors
Changent proudly unveils its latest cohort of Parent Ambassadors. These remarkable individuals, all former participants of the Child First and Nurse-Family Partnership programs, are dedicated advocates for families across the nation. Their mission is to share their stories and elevate awareness about maternal and child health.
What are Parent Ambassadors?
Parent Ambassadors serve as vital voices for Changent, utilizing their personal experiences to enhance the effectiveness of its programs. They engage in impactful storytelling and advocacy efforts to strengthen the care systems that families depend on. Through their work, these ambassadors reflect Changent’s commitment to creating programs that truly make a difference, encapsulated in their motto: Programs with Impact. Healthier Futures.
The Growth of the Program
This year marks a significant enlargement of the Parent Ambassador program, featuring a total of 11 ambassadors, expanding on previous cohorts. Over the past few years, alumni from the program have dedicated more than 830 volunteer hours collectively, passionately advocating for better policies affecting families' health and well-being.
Advocacy and Engagement Initiatives
The 2025-2027 cohort will embark on various advocacy initiatives, including participation in State Education and Advocacy Days and sharing their powerful stories with key lawmakers. Their efforts will prove pivotal in advancing critical maternal and child health agendas, particularly the upcoming reauthorization of the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting program.

Meet Abbie Bennett
From Indiana, Abbie Bennett is a passionate advocate who credits the Nurse-Family Partnership with helping her achieve stability and health as a new mom. She works with Indiana University Health as a Project Coordinator, where she continues her advocacy for families affected by domestic violence.
Introducing Julia Boyd
California resident Julia Boyd completed the Nurse-Family Partnership program in 2021. As a social work professional with ambitions in postpartum mental health, she brings invaluable insights from her experiences as a mother and mental health advocate.
