Even with perfect conditions for coffee cultivation and plans for a hydroponic greenhouse, high energy costs and the devastating effects of a hurricane severely impacted operational growth. As obstacles mounted, plans to provide local employment and fresh produce to the community came to a standstill.

In July, the team successfully installed a robust 9.8kW solar system at the farm. MT Solar supported this by providing six durable solar mounts, each with the capacity to hold four 410W modules elevated 15 feet above ground. Collaborating firms, including Aireko Energy Group and GRID Alternatives Puerto Rico, completed essential groundwork and system assembly. Additionally, EG4 Electronics from Texas contributed an inverter and batteries to establish a 40kWh energy bank.
