Distil PLC Announces Board Changes
Distil PLC (AIM: DIS), the proud owner of premium drink brands like RedLeg Spiced Rum and Blackwoods Gin, is on the move. In a recent development, Roland Grain is set to resign from his position as a non-executive director effective from December 31, 2024. This decision is part of a bigger picture as Grain shifts his focus towards Ardgowan Distillery, where operations will be transitioning into malt whisky production in Spring 2025.
Roland Grain’s Transition
Though Grain will be stepping down, he intends to keep his investment in Distil, which is notably the second-largest stakeholder in Ardgowan Distillery with a significant £3 million Convertible Loan Note. Apart from this investment, Distil is also committed to the development of the Blackwoods distillery and its brand home at the Ardgowan site, where gin production is already starting. Excitingly, the brand home is expected to open to the public in Spring 2025.
Welcoming New Directors
As a result of this departure, Distil has taken steps to fill the vacant position created on the board. Adebola Adebo, currently serving as the Finance Director, and Sarah Kingsbury, the Marketing Director, will officially join the Distil PLC board starting January 1, 2025. Both Adebo and Kingsbury have previously contributed their expertise as directors of the subsidiary Distil Company Limited, making them outstanding additions to the leadership team.
