His expertise covers projects from initial research phases through late-stage development and manufacturing for diverse companies, from burgeoning biotechs to top-tier multinational pharmaceutical giants.
A Legacy of Innovation
Dorsett has spent the last seven years as a consultant, leveraging his extensive experience to merge IT with business strategy, enabling the delivery of innovative solutions for global scientific data management. Before this, he dedicated nearly a decade to Bristol-Myers Squibb. Here, he was involved in pre-clinical development and veterinary sciences, later transitioning to global corporate IT, where he oversaw comprehensive application design and support.

During his tenure at Symyx Technologies, Dorsett served as Chief Information Officer and eventually founded Symyx Software. His contributions included leading the development of essential software for lab automation and data analysis utilized in materials research. This included creating one of the primary commercial Electronic Lab Notebook systems in use today. Earlier in his career, he dedicated over ten years at Molecular Design Limited (MDL), where he designed innovative software solutions for chemistry and biology research.
