Named after a prominent archaeological site of the Mayan civilization, the Copán vessel has been specifically designed to transport cargo efficiently while utilizing low-emission liquefied natural gas (LNG) as fuel. Innovative Focus on Perishables
The capabilities of Avance Class vessels, pronounced in Spanish as 'ah-bahn-seh', uniquely position them to rapidly transport perishable goods including food products and pharmaceuticals. Additionally, they can carry a range of retail products, apparel, and breakbulk cargo created for trade between the U.S. and other regional markets, including Central America and the Dominican Republic. With a capacity of 1,400 TEUs (20-foot equivalent units), these ships can accommodate various container sizes for dry cargo and have the capacity for up to 300 refrigerated containers during their weekly port calls.
