Coloplast Strengthens Leadership Structure for Future Growth
Coloplast A/S has announced an expansion of its Executive Leadership Team (ELT) with immediate effect, highlighting the company's commitment to enhancing its strategic direction and operational efficiency.
The decision comes as part of Coloplast's strategy to bolster its business ahead of the final year of its 2025 plan. According to Kristian Villumsen, CEO of Coloplast, this move aligns with their ongoing investments in key business areas that are expected to drive value creation moving forward.
Strategic Focus on Chronic Care
In the newly formed ELT, the Chronic Care division, which encompasses both Innovation and commercial operations, will now be led by Nicolai Buhl, who has been appointed as the Executive Vice President of Chronic Care. This reorganization reflects the importance of focusing leadership on critical business areas that contribute to the company's success.
Villumsen remarked, “Our current strategic efforts have significantly strengthened our innovation capabilities, and we have successfully launched a greater number of products into the market. This next phase is about harnessing the potential of our investments and new innovations in the Chronic Care sector.”
Farewell to a Valued Executive
As part of this organizational change, Paul Marcun, who played a key role in Coloplast's growth over the years, will retire after 36 years in the MedTech industry. Kristian Villumsen expressed gratitude for Marcun's contributions and leadership throughout his tenure at Coloplast.
New Additions to the Executive Leadership Team
Coloplast is also welcoming two new members to its ELT. Caroline Vagner Rosenstand has been appointed as the Executive Vice President for Voice & Respiratory Care, while Thomas Johns Jr. has taken on the role of Executive Vice President for Interventional Urology.
Rosenstand, who has been successfully managing the Voice & Respiratory Care division since the acquisition of Atos Medical, has a track record of building strong teams and delivering impressive growth rates. Meanwhile, Johns Jr. is expected to further accelerate the growth of the Interventional Urology division, leveraging both organic and acquisition strategies.
Investments in Advanced Wound Care
Coloplast is committed to expanding its footprint in the Advanced Wound Care market. The company has invested significantly in both dressings and biologics, with a focus on enhancing profitability. Villumsen stated, "Our strategy is to advance our commercial efforts while ensuring we effectively integrate Kerecis into our operations, with the ambition of becoming a leading player in the biologics category."
