A Flavorful Fight Against Alzheimer's
When a chef known for soulful flavors takes a stand for a heartfelt cause, it's not just another charity headline. Celebrity chef Carla Hall, along with The Fresh Market, has teamed up with the Alzheimer's Association in an effort to bring more than just awareness to Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month this June.
Cook with Love for a Cause
Carla Hall has always preached about cooking with love, and this time, she's doing it for her Granny, Freddie Mai Price Glover, who battled Alzheimer's. Memories of Sunday dinners at Granny's table run deep for Hall, and now she's channeling those memories into action. Through her collaboration, The Fresh Market is offering ‘With Love Market Meal Kits & Sides,’ donating 10% of the purchase price of these meals throughout June to fuel the fight against Alzheimer's.
Numbers That Demand Action
"The Alzheimer's Association is inspired by Carla Hall and The Fresh Market's dedication to our vision for a world without Alzheimer's," said Christine John-Fuller, Executive Director for the Alzheimer's Association North Carolina Chapters.
It's not just a few donations here and there; it's about funding research and support services seriously. With over 7 million Americans affected by Alzheimer's, the numbers themselves are a call to arms. And in North Carolina, where more than 210,500 people live with the disease and over 338,000 caregivers put in sweat work without pay, the stakes are particularly down-home.
From Kitchen to Checkout: Extend a Helping Hand
The Fresh Market and Carla Hall are banking on more than just sales. Shoppers are invited to chip in by rounding up their purchases at checkout. Last year, through Hall's Sweet Heritage Butter Tart initiative, they netted over $21,000. This year, they're aiming to top that.

A Mission that Resonates
Emily Turner, chief marketing officer at The Fresh Market, reflects a shared enthusiasm: "We are thrilled to partner once again with Carla Hall and the Alzheimer's Association during Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month." It's not just about the dollars but making that personal connection between cuisine and cause.
The Fresh Market, spanning 170 stores in 22 states, isn’t new to this game. Recognized for stellar customer service and its range of specialty ingredients, the store offers more than just a checkout experience. It's a platform to ‘do good’ while stocking your pantry. Their partnership with Hall isn't about a quick buck—it's about cooking with heart and purpose, one meal kit at a time.
