Brunswick Exploration's Successful Drilling at Mirage Project
Brunswick Exploration Launches Winter Drilling at Mirage
Brunswick Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: BRW, OTCQB: BRWXF, Frankfurt: 1XQ) is excited to announce the commencement of a winter drilling campaign at its Mirage project. Located in Quebec's Eeyou Istchee-James Bay region, this initiative aims to drill at least 5,000 meters. The program will focus on several untested exploration targets located east and west of the Central Zone corridor. Subsequently, additional phases will include drilling for potential expansions of the MR-3 and MR-6 dykes and targeting the stacked dyke system along their depths and lateral extensions.
Addressing Untapped Potential
President and CEO Mr. Killian Charles expressed enthusiasm over initiating the new campaign at Mirage, noting that many of the targets this time are undrilled. This differentiates the effort from the previous summer’s operations. The Central Zone corridor, which hosts the largest pegmatites at Mirage, has yielded promising results in prior explorations. For logistical reasons, the team had not been able to drill these sites until now.
New Targets and Opportunities
An exciting component of this drilling campaign includes targeting a newly identified mineralized dyke system, located approximately 4.5 kilometers northeast of the Central Zone. This marks a significant step out from the existing operational area and embodies the first drilling activity in an area deemed to have high potential since the start of the exploration efforts in 2023.
Details of the Mirage Project Drill Program
The winter campaign scheduled for 2025 aims to achieve a minimum of 5,000 meters of drilling over three months, and is organized with two primary objectives in mind: to test the undrilled targets across the Mirage site and to pursue step-out drilling for MR-3, MR-6, and the associated stacked dyke system.
Identifying High-Priority Targets
These undrilled targets were pinpointed during the 2023 and 2024 prospecting campaigns and subsequent geophysical surveys. They consist of spodumene-bearing pegmatites that are surfacing and low gravimetric anomalies alongside geochemical lithium anomalies. The proximity to shallow lakes presents ideal conditions for ice drilling, but past drilling operations in 2024 faced challenges due to warmer conditions and poor ice formation.
Current Drilling Plans in Central Zone
Initially, drilling will focus on the MR-6 dyke to the north, where there are indications that it remains open for exploration. Following this, the MR-3 dyke will be evaluated down-dip towards the south. Previous explorations at MR-3 have hinted at the potential for thickening within the dyke. The team is keen to examine the stacked dyke system to the east, where earlier operations uncovered significant intercepts.
The Team Behind the Project
The scientific and technical details of this press release have been carefully reviewed and approved by Mr. Simon T. Hébert, the VP of Development at Brunswick Exploration. Mr. Hébert is a qualified professional geologist in Quebec and adheres to the National Instrument 43-101 standards.
