Sunarso assured that this distribution will not compromise the bank's capital adequacy. He emphasized that BRI has met all its investment needs and set aside sufficient reserves to mitigate potential risks.
BRI's Strong Financial Performance
As reported at the end of the third quarter of 2024, BRI recorded a remarkable consolidated net profit of Rp45.36 trillion. The bank has disbursed Rp1,353.36 trillion in loans by the end of September 2024, reflecting a notable year-on-year (YoY) growth of 8.21%. Approximately 81.70% of these loans, or about Rp1,105.70 trillion, has been directed towards supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), fostering significant economic development.
This impressive loan disbursement has propelled BRI’s assets to grow by 5.94% YoY, reaching a total of Rp1,961.92 trillion. BRI's consistent focus on asset quality is evident as well, demonstrated by a reduction in the Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio, which decreased to 2.90% in Q3 2024 from 3.07% in the same period the previous year. Furthermore, the Loan at Risk (LAR) ratio improved, moving from 13.80% in Q3 2023 to 11.66% in Q3 2024.
